Your new house has a pre-installed home security system
Many times after you buy a home, you’ll see that the old owners didn’t take a home security system. All the alarms and cameras work, are installed in the best areas, and are ready to go. In this instance, all you may have to do is to call and start a new contract. A Vivint professional will still come out to ensure there are no usability issues, and they might offer options on upgrades. It's a preliminary trip, and you can get your alarm monitoring set up without having a bill for any new devices -- unless you add on.
The outgoing homeowners can give an existing Vivint contract to your family for a small transfer fee to make your life simpler. If the outgoing residents are moving to an apartment complex or retirement community, transferring the security contract may be a part of the sale.
You want to move and bring your home security devices with you
You may need to bring along your old Vivint system with you to a new place when you move. Luckily, it's fairly simple to transfer, as most components are wireless. You can uninstall each alarm or camera yourself or contact a professional expert to come and take down your devices. Then our installers will set up the same features -- and any new things you need -- in your new home. And your home security contract will stay the same.
